If life is a journey, then you damn sure want to make sure that you pack the right gear to make sure you enjoy the ride! Be open to new experiences, alternative points of view, and learn from those who have come before us and rocked it!
Here are 5 of my favourite books that would make inspirational reading for anyone who wants to lead a successful and joyful life.
1. Psycho Cybertetics (Dr Maxwell Matz)
This is a classic that will show you how to program your mind for success. Perceived barriers will melt away very fast, and you will learn how to install the software of success into your mind. This book is often quoted in this genre as being the father of self-help psychology.
2. The Way of The Peaceful Warrior (Dan Millman)
This was the first book of this genre that I read way back when, and it still sticks in my mind as the turning point that helped me build self awareness and notice the negative habits that we can sometimes foster that stand between us and success.
3. Striking Thoughts (Bruce Lee)
This book is like an Access All Areas pass to the brain of Bruce Lee. He gives insights about everything from nutrition, to religion, to happiness, and even adds in a section about being a movie star. This is a real gem when you need a little flash of motivation.
4. Think and Grow Rich (Napoleon Hill)
The title here speaks for itself. This book is the results of in-depth research on the most successful people in the USA at the time of publishing (1937), and will give you clear instructions on how to establish a goal and create a focus that will bring you to the goal, along with many kick-ass examples. Not a bad one considering the current financial situation on our little island!
5. The Talent Code (Daniel Coyle)
If you want to learn how to get good at something, then this is the book you should read. The author travels the world in pursuit of the greatest achievers in their fields, and comes up with the answer as to how to develop talent. If you are learning a musical instrument, or want to explode your progress in a sport, this book will give you some serious direction and motivation, and is well worth the read.
